A Day on the Sea
Anti-Paxos |
Another boat trip that I went on was to Paxos and
Anti-Paxos. They are the two little islands just outside of Parga, about an
hour or so sail away. It is said that these islands used to belong to Poseidon.
The legend goes that Poseidon took the most beautiful part of Corfu and servered the tip off it to create a place for him and his love Amphitrite and that is how Paxos and
Anti-Paxos were created.
Once again this boat trip involves swimming in the turquoise
sea – who can complain about that? Also an exploration of the caves on the
Paxos islands as well as a stop on Paxos capital village of Gaios. Once again
an amazingly picturesque little town, with small narrow streets, local tavernas
and little shops scattered along the harbour front.
The trip to Paxos and Anti-Paxos was lovely and not too long
– of the two I have been to here in Greece I would probably recommend this one
unless you specifically want to pick of several of the Ionian Islands on your
list. Simply because it is not so long yet still gives you the opportunity to
swim in the most beautiful of oceans and explore a traditional Greek village.
A day on the sea is pretty much a must if you are in Parga
and Lefkada!
